IB Pet Inc. was founded in 2009 by Lori Smith in Imperial Beach, CA. Lori’s passion for pet nutrition began with her two Golden Retrievers, Tanner and Cali, and her cat, Dixie. As a puppy, Tanner struggled with stomach and skin issues, and after countless vet visits with no success, Lori took matters into her own hands. Through extensive research, she discovered that a high-quality diet could significantly improve Tanner’s health. Inspired by this transformation, Lori set out to create a place where pet parents could find premium nutrition including raw diets and wellness products to support their pets’ well-being.

 

As IB Pet grew, Lori built a team of dedicated pet lovers who share her commitment to education and proper pet care. Today, IB Pet has expanded to four locations, each focused on helping pet parents make informed choices for their furry family members:

 

• Imperial Beach, CA – Established 2009 (600 Palm Ave. #127)

 

• Chula Vista, CA – Opened April 2015 (575 Telegraph Canyon Rd.)

 

• Rancho San Diego, CA – Opened March 2018 (3729 Avocado Blvd.)

 

• Del Mar, CA – Opened November 2024 (2600 Via de la Valle)

 

Now supported by a team of over 40 passionate employees, IB Pet continues its mission to promote proper nutrition, care, and a healthy lifestyle for pets.

 

Tanner, Cali, and Dixie lived long, happy lives, and their legacy remains at the heart of IB Pet. Today, Lori is a proud mom of three and shares her home with Whisky, her Golden Retriever, while also caring for her friend’s Corgi, Sandy.
